The Next Xbox Will Play Blu-Ray, May Not Play Used Games (And Will Introduce Kinect 2)

According to Kotaku sources, the next Xbox will be upgraded to Blu-Ray (finally) but it seems to be for reasons other than extra disk space. It looks like Microsoft is going to try using some large anti-piracy/anti-used game system that may take up a bit of space on each disk. 

Microsoft also plans on releasing a new version of their Kinect that has an on-board processor. This should help the Kinect detect user motions more effectively.

Not sure how I feel about this. 

Fuck you mean it won’t play used games. Out of the 10 games I own, nine of them are used. The only game I’ll probably ever pay full price for every year is going to Madden. This is some nonsense.

I will be thoroughly pissed if there is not some kind of cloud-based option for gamers with the next gen consoles. I don’t to have to change discs everytime I want to play a new game. Link that shit to my XBL/PSN account and let me download it onto my console. The disc should be an optional feature for those who don’t want the hassle of downloading a 30GB game. 

I think we’ll know if they’re going to do this by how big the hard drives in the new consoles will be. Anything less than 1TB is completely unacceptable. But I’d prefer 2-4TB. 

Industry experts are saying the next gen of consoles will likely be the very last, so I expect them to be extremely expensive and feature packed.
